What's the pcd for Volvo 343 wheels? I have twisted ideas now.
A guy who lives a few blocks from me has a Fiskar Karma and a Telsa roadster. No, his house isn't green...
ThePhranc wrote: I knew it was Crazy Rays when I saw the first pic. Is that sad or awesome? Last time I was there a dude got caught trying to steal stuff. Cost him $200 for some tiny little trim parts that he didn't even get to keep.... Dumb ass.
lol, they have the off-duty cop there checking bags. I kind laughed because all the usual parts-pullers who do it for a living probably, and grease-monkey mechanics were getting their bags and toolboxes checked through thoroughly. Then when I got up there I was about to open my backpack (full of tools and stuff) and the guy was like "yeah, you're good."
I guess I look trustworthy . Of course, didn't hurt that he saw me pull up in a late-model car, not a POS beater like most of the cars in that lot haha...
I actually went to two Crazy Ray's today.....Hawkins Point and Jessup. Jessup was the real score for me in terms of parts, which is unusual.
Come to think of it, he was probably busy laughing at me for one of my parts purchases ($6):
in mint condition, out of a late-90s 5-series. I couldn't resist

no, but I bet his house is big.
I saw two Jag E-Types on the road today. One '69 that was nice and the other was a rat. The rat looked bigger (70s?) and was probably he old couple's DD from the looks of it.
The new neighbor across the street has a pretty nice '61 T Bird and there's a '75 TR6 down the street, about two blocks away there's a hardtail 'bobber' single cam Honda CB750. Not into bobbers or choppers but I'd love to have that motor. Across the street from the bobber dude is a 'split bumper' 1970 Camaro. There's also a guy who cuts through here driving a Cobra replica, haven't determined which mfg it is. Several Corvettes, etc. Haven't seen anything really esoteric (except my J-H's, lots of Brit car nuts have no idea what it is) yet, though.
^^ Woah, the rattle-canned wheels, the scuffed rockers... I love it! So cool to see one of those that's not just polished up and sitting in some posh twit's "garage".
There has to be a good story behind that...

Glad to see i wasnt the only on that immediately thought how cool a scuffed up Lamborghini is. I would much rather have a driver countach than a garage queen!
Kind of looks like a kit car to me...
I saw a dude driving a later model twin turbo v8 Lotus Espirit in February. Let me tell you, we have a good couple of inches of gravel in the gutter from how much they spread during the winter, and tons of salt. Looked really clean too!
In reply to Jay: I bet there is also. I've seen it a few times as the gent who owns it rolls with Triangle Italians club. It's funny to see 3 of them pull up, two pristine garage queens and his "beater" Lambo, hahaaa. It sounds awesome as hell too. Word from a local at the car meet is that he DDs it as long as the weather is dry. That is tar that has scuffed the bottom of it, and every time I've seen it it's dirty.
I've caught it on the road several times in RTP (NC Tech Park, home to Cisco, IBM, Lenovo, Sony, etc.) and it's being driven normally.
Every time I see it, the thought occurs to me that THAT is when you know you have money, if you can afford to DD this thing. I imagine driving it often over the years (and spending some $$$) has gotten it well sorted out.
Here's another shot of it.

On my daily commute to work I've noticed someone else driving to work in an Audi R8. Not the sort of car you expect to see driving around in Minnesota in the winter.

It's probably one of those "LEED Certified" 5000 square foot single family abominations.
<----- LEED AP here, somewhat embarrassed to be at times.

I wondered if someone would mention that.
It's not, though. Hard to tell from the perspective, but it is about a foot shorter than any of the compacts beside it. The exhaust tips look like something someone would slap on a 350 conversion, but it's not that either.
Dude hangs with people driving 300k cars on a first name, hey-smell-ya-later basis, and of course there is the engine, in-person trim level, etc. He doesn't seem stuck up or anything, he's just gotta be insanely rich, fell in love with the car, and drives the E36 M3 out of it. Pretty admirable for sure.
I'll have my camera ready for video the next time he pops the door, sits on the sill to see behind the car, and reverses it while blipping the throttle. Everyone stops and watches. It's definitely real, and it's real damn insane.

he seems a bit far from home to be trying to pick up a game of cat-mouse in Old Virgini

psh....I wouldn't be doing 80 in I-95 in Virginia, that's beyond stupid! I was in Maryland, heading up to B-More. MD troopers aren't nearly as hardcore as our Commonwealth boys...
Plus that area of 95 is a 65 or 70 zone.
I think he was showing off because I had been switching lanes a bit earlier trying to catch up to see what the hell the car was. He clearly wanted to show me how fast his JCW was, lol. That said, had I actually been racing him (which I don't do on public streets), he would have lost I still have about 100hp/100tq on him, and upon looking it up, the JCW coupe isn't as light as I expected (2700+lbs vs. me at 3200lbs or so). But whatever. He does have an electric wing for mad downforce.....
