A lot of upgrades happened between '86 and '87, including far better heads, better front brakes, etc. A lot depends on the condition of the car, any 25+ old year car won't handle worth anything on original struts/shocks, etc. In good shape, they're not too bad, and they can definitely be improved through the vast aftermarket out there.
