Not that closet! The other closet across the room where all the people just browse threads and don't say much.
I thought I would introduce myself and say hello because this place rocks! I forgot how I came across the site but I had it in my bookmarks and decided to take another look. 4-5 months of browsing later and I must say, this place is impressive. You guys have some serious fabrication skills and you know everything about anything. Some of your projects make me want to blow the dust off my car and get back into it.
Speaking of projects, let me show you mine.
This is a my current project. It's an 1983 Boston Whaler 15 sport that I am currently dumping way too much money into but I rationalize it because it is a boat that will last me a life time. More on this later:
My current car is this and its very much a love/hate relationship. Love the mileage, hate the quirks. 2000 Jetta TDI
Previous project, but as soon as I finish the whaler I need to give it some more attention. Needs some love.
This is another toy in need of love. Rebuilt the engine in my bathroom when I was a sophomore at USF. Currently doesn't run again and hasn't moved in 5 years.
This is the car that must have originally brought me here. At its peak it was making over 500 horsepower but had some tuning issues. I sold a bunch of parts off it and now it's on nitrous instead of the supercharger and doesn't move much. I actually just filled the tank up for the first time since August of 2008 and I have been averaging 26 miles a YEAR on it. It just sits under a cover in a garage across the state with no insurance and it's not insured. The more I read on here the more I would like to use it to get into autocross but then I would need to find room for it over here. We shall see
...hmmm apparently this is the most recent picture I have of it. It now has 18x9 and 18x10 real Saleen wheels, not those bad knock offs:
I owned this for a summer, bought it for $350.
Also got this for free:
More random pics I found in my photobucket account:
Sisters car ex car, now she has a 2004 Jetta TDI and my mom has a 2002 TDI wagon:
Mom's TDI wagon I picked up for $2000 with 130k miles on it.
Big fish

Anyway, as you can see I am a hoarder and I like weird old things just like you guys. Thanks for the great site and informative posts. Actually pretty surprising that such an interesting group of folks has called this part of the internet home and it hasn't been over run by toolbags and trolls.
One thing I haven't quite figured out yet. I think I found out what E36M3 is, but canoe is bothering me. Is it a spammer? If so I have that too
