Tons of whips from all the major manufacturers. The Detroit show is on at the same time, so this is a second string operation but they still had plenty of product. Great place to park yr pants in a bunch of cars / trucks all at once and comparison shop.

Ford have the best overall lineup IMO - something impressive in every category. The new Exploder is great, and the Recaro seats in the Focus / Fiesta ST are OMG so great. The 2015 Mustang was there - I'm sure it hauls ass, but on looks alone it's too much like the old one and... booooring.

Chevy had the new Colorado King Cab on display - looks like a Tacoma clone, which is alright w/me.

Some pics:

I love u BMW M4.

This thing was mobbed out with fan boyz.

Carbon Fiber roof panel. Take that AmeriKKKa!

CF strut brace?

RWD V8 Kia: a Jag from 10 years ago.

My kids, breaking into a Nissan Leaf van:

The Jaaaag. Sat inside the convertible version and the interior was an ergonomic nightmare - holy crap did it have a lot of buttons and switch gear vomited over the doors and center console. I understand that's part of it's British heritage, but it also had a touchscreen and an I-Drive type dial. WTF

Zombie Attack Veloster.

All your knobs are belong to us. Almost every car had the gear shift knob, radio knobs etc stolen. Stolen by Jag and placed on their center console, most likely.

Original Shelby Daytona: eat laser death Enzo Ferrari!

Volvo also impressed - the V60 wagon was well put together. And no, I'll never own that decroded POS but their Chinese overlords put together a nice interior. It's attractive from the outside too.

I've got a few more I'll upload if anyone cares - the Toyota cars of tomorrow were kinda rad. One looked like a giant shoe, and the sides were an LED panel that you could load pictures onto.

I thought the best seats of any car there were in the Genesis R-Spec. Fit me like a glove. I may have to buy just the seats to put in my wrx, lol.

Best backseat in the show is the Hyundai Equus....Has about 10 feet of legroom and is more comfortable than the couch in my living room....and better looking.

My car is down right near that Daytona. I talked with the guys there a bit, but they were busy hosting about a dozen photographers taking photos of the car from 50 different angles, lol.

One of the guys at the Hyundai booth said they actually bring about a dozen of every knob and stuff in their gear, since they all get stolen every day.

Was happy to be there Friday night, with no crowds. I could pretty much walk around and get in every car without people getting in my way.

Saw your BMW at the SCCA booth - looked good. Didn't get a lot of time to ogle it - the building was hotter than Africa, and the wife and kids were getting a little grumpy at dad.

The back seats of the Equus and the 7 Series BMW were amazing.

In reply to irish44j:

being prepped for a purpose, even of the prep consist of removing carpet, rear seats etc, welding a dif and tossing in a cg lock is always still cool

Went to the Houston show last weekend and can echo a lot of what has been said. The 2015 Mustang looks too big. I was hoping to be blown away by it being smaller. It's not really smaller. Got to sit in the C7 Corvette which was nice. I figured I'd like it, but more importantly my wife really liked it and said the visibility was really good for her. That made me happy. That 'strut brace' in the M3 was goofy. I could move it with my hand. It can't be doing anything structural. There was a new Porsche GT3 there. Holy crap. I still like the Ford Raptor and if you could get one with double bench seats (four kids) then I'd probably have one. The new Transit Connect in people hauler version looks great for hauling the beasties around but what I really wanted to see was the new big Transit. They didn't have one. Or a Nissan NV van. Or anything other than the big Fiat van. Apparently nobody wants to sell me a bus for my family.

Haven't been to any shows but did get to play with one of the new 7 seat TC's for a couple hours last week. Much nicer inside than my 2010 version. And the engine (2.5L vs. 2.0L) and transmission (6 speed vs. 4 speed) is much better also. The second row seat has significantly more legroom than mine. But the third row is definitely for small children. I am only 5'6" and my knees were up chest high which was very uncomfortable. I am waiting for a 5 seat version to come in before I make a decision on whether I want one.
