This is from 1976. The lake in question doesn't freeze hard enough to drive on anymore

I live on Lake Minnetonka. In the past by Christmas the ice was filled with 1/2& 3/4 T pickups etc surrounding ice houses people were fishing from. So far this year I haven't seen a single one. Ice is just too thin. It's been that way for a while now.
Ice racing used to cut great big deep grooves in the ice sometimes more than a foot deep in places from the studded tires. But it didn't matter because the ice could be over 3' thick.
I used to run a Saab 96, like this but green.
