I agree. Ive never disclosed mods to a car insurance company. To do so is downright ridiculous. If you are ever tempted to 'help' your insurance company, please try to remember that they are more or less out to berkeley you.

"help" my insurance company? Nooo... My intent was to keep from being berked to begin with... Ok, drop this part of the thread and go back to talking about a possible swap...
Alrighty. I think you are in the clear with an engine swap as it usually wont severely affect your ability to turn or stop, which is the only way i see an insurance company trying to use a car mod as a way to get out of covering you for whatever you just ran into. If you're concerned about replacement value i would say just go to an agreed value policy.
/insurance talk.
I want to drive a vq35 sentra se-r. A local friend here test drove one that popped up on CL. I like SE-Rs fairly well to begin with and i like VQs slightly more than that so i'd say a 3.5 sentra se-r ranks pretty high on my list of cool FWD projects.
I'd love to put the 3.5 in my old Maxima...the 3.0 has good power, but the 3.5 would be awesome...I can't imagine the fun in a Sentra!
From what i remember from my days of reading on maxima.org, putting a 3.5 in a 3.0 maxima is exceedingly easy as motor swaps go.
