Say you can't fit a fuel cell in the back of your car because, say, there's a bigass radiator there. Where would you put it?

If we're fine-tuning this hypothetical, say it's a 5-gallon vertical cell and it's a fully-prepped hillclimb car with only a driver's seat.

Where does the rule book say you can put it?

Anywhere as long as it is boxed off from the driver.

Passenger side as close to the middle of the car as possible. Aluminum box and you're good to go.

I like Don49s location, get it as close to the CoG as possible. Although 5 gallons of gas only weighs 35lbs or so, it can't hurt.

Don49's location is the second best if you can't put it under the rear seat/shelf area. This is the best place for both weight distribution and safety. You're not dedicated to using a hypothetical vertical cell, are you?
