I have a complete ms2v3 setup that I made as a plug and play for early 944s. I want to use it as a demo to show people what the various changes in inputs do to the various outputs. For this I want to plumb a injector rail up with a fuel pump and a FPR that would be used as a demo. The injectors would be sprayed in to clear tubes that drain back to the tank for the pump. The plumbing is easy and I have all the electrics already working on a bench with a engine harnis that has all the sensors and a throttle body. I am using a stim Jim to mimic the pip and saw to the MS2. At this time I am not going to wire up coils and plugs.

What I am looking for I somthing to use as the "fuel". Ideally it should be of similar viscosity, non flammable and comparable with the pump and the injectors. Any suggestions?

There are not many fuel type fluids that are not flammable especially when vaporized.

I think injector shops have a test fluid that is safer than fuel or paint thinner.

I was gonna say low-odor mineral spirits

I was going to try mineral oil but it is probably to thick.

Mix water and alcohol to the proper viscosity or buy this

Calibration fluids are simulated fuels with physical properties designed to replicate diesel fuel and/or gasoline. These specially developed fluids are not only safer to use, but are formulated to meet tighter, more demanding specifications required by Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) and Re-Manufacturers when calibrating, flowing, and flushing fuel pumps, rails, injectors and other fuel delivery components

In reply to Rusnak_322:

Calibration fluid. Who knew!!! I also found that they make a calibration fluid that also is a cleaner. 5 gal is about $120. Not bad for what it is. If my setup also cleans injectors I have 4-5 sets that need cleaning. It would pay for its self.

As Bill Nye said: Everybody you ever meet can teach you something.

This board proves it.

And it is available on Amazon!!! Free shipping. Just going to have to figure out what to do with 5 gallons of the stuff I really only need a gallon or so.

I was actually thinking of lamp oil as it smells a bit better.

Now I'm curious to see how good or bad Vodka would be. Maybe a little food coloring for visual aid. I'd like to see how fuel pressure affects vaporization, or even different hole configurations.

You'll get sick of that after awhile.

Simple. Just build 4 more injector cleaning stations and start a mail order injector cleaning service.

The set up now will be able to run 4 injectors but could be increased to 8 with out any problem.

The real bit of work would be adapting to the various impedance injectors and the connectors for the plugs and the rail connections. Not impossible but it would require setting up for each. Once done though it would be easily replicated for future use.
