So I want to replace all the rubber fuel hose on the 280zx before I even put a battery in it. I haven't taken a tape measure to it yet, but it's looking like 10-15 feet of very expensive hose. (relatively speaking)
With local prices at $5.50-7/foot I'm hoping to find some hidden online deal.
Best I can find is someone on eBay selling 15ft lengths for about $55.
Should I just pay the man and stop looking?
You should need about 5 feet... that's 6x2" pieces for fuel injectors, plus 2 feet or so each supply and return under the hood, with one of them cut in half where the fuel filter is. I guess you might need another foot or so if you're doing all the little bits at the fuel pump.

For that much, how would braided stainless hose and AN fittings compare?
At least you don't need 5/16" submersible fuel line. That stuff is over $15 a foot!

25ft on Amazon for $55. I did that 2 or 3 years ago and im just now running out.
Just pony up, nothing like watching a finished car burn to the ground. Happened back in the day guy used regular carburetor hose in place of fuel injection line.
In reply to kb58 :
It would be impractical to convert this system to AN both physically and monetarily. The injectors themselves are attached to the rail with a rubber hose and clamps. There would be dozens of fittings and adapers (at $7-20/ea) and all the steel line (ie: fuel rail, sender, and underbody hard lines) would have to be flared requiring multiple fittings per connection. (Unless there are hose ends that convert directly to flare fitting that I'm unaware of.) With around 20 connections (not counting the 12 injector/rail connections) it just doesn't make sense. Plus the braided stainless wrapped hose itself is closer to $100 for that same 15 feet.

That deal doesn't seem to exist anymore.
Not something I'd cheap out on, but if the 10-15 feet is not an exaggeration, I'd seriously think about replacing as much as I could with hard line.
As for the AN approach - there are compression fitting to hose ends that you can put on the end of a hard line and attache directly to an AN hose. But too much AN hose can get expensive too.
The cheapest way is hard lines, but also the most difficult due to all the bending and flaring. 25ft of 3/8 or 5/16 aluminum line shipped to your door for $25.
The 280zx fuel rail is just barbed hard line.
The rubber hose connects the injectors, the FPR, and the cold start valve to the fuel rail.
Then connects the rail to the under car hard line (with a break for the filter) then in the back to the external pump and the tank pickup/return.
There's no way to avoid rubber line.
*Disclaimer*: I'm aware of the risk, and need for proper fuel injection line. I posted this hoping my GRM friends knew of a secret source. I don't want "cheap hose" I'm just trying to find a supplier selling it on the cheap. Hence the thread title.
Not sure your going to get alot cheaper than 4-5 bucks a foot for EFI hose. I have used the Earl's Vapor Guard EFI hose it was 4.42 a foot last time I bought it. It's good stuff and easy to use.
I buy Gates brand by the roll at Amazon. Yes, it's overkill for one job, but future projects will parlay the cost right down manageable.
I feel your pain. I needed more than 10 feet of the stuff last winter for a motor swap. Ouch.
Hey, while you’re at it, get rid of the bugle. That E36 M3 does nothing but make injector replacement a nightmare. One of the best mods I ever did to my s130.

Is it metric or standard size? I have found that 5/16 line fits loose on fittings for 8mm line for some reason even though it definitely shouldn't. Its well worth it to buy the best line you can get and the proper clamps to go with it.
Yeah, the only sources I've found for 8mm FI line is Continental and it's even MORE expensive.

I suppose a more helpful version of me would have just linked it the first time around.
Also turns out $55 is only for 1/4, 5/16 is $63 so i guess i'm wrong.
