Getting ready to order the fixins' to plumb the fuel system in the LS swapped RX7 and I have a few questions, having never worked with the various fuel line fittings and such before.
Basically what I have is two 5/16" (I think, have to double check and confirm) hard lines running from the tank to the engine bay, one supply and one return. These will feed into a C5 Corvette fuel filter/FPR combo, which has three GM quick disconnect fittings on it, one supply, one return, and one feed to the fuel rail (simple solution for mating the returnless system on the engine to the return style system on the chassis.) The fuel rail also has the GM quick disconnect fitting.
So between the fuel rail and FPR, I just need a line with the quick disconnect fittings at both ends (may even be able to reuse the line off the Camaro if I still have it.) That's the easy part.
It's mating to the hard lines on the chassis that I'm wondering about. I'd like to run AN lines between the hard lines and the FPR for security's sake, due to proximity to where the header will be. Earls and Russel both offer compression fittings to 6an adapters, like this, however they all seem to either show a max of 50 psi (I'll be running 57), or state for use with aluminum tubing only. Option B is to use Swagelok fittings, which seem to be more secure, and also more costly, with the added inconvenience of the nearest distributor being over an hour away. Option C I guess would be to flare the hard lines, however I'd prefer not to go that route, as flaring tubing always seems to turn into a huge PITA.
So thoughts? Goal is simplest solution that won't result in barbecuing myself at some point down the line.
