Fun article. Good read once you get past the initial banter.

edit Click the next error next to the pictures to continue reading the article. Really annoying, but I suppose it helps them pay the bills.

All 3 paragraphs of it? I didn't see any real article.

You have to hit the Next button under the picture. Confused me for a while as well.

I read the article a few weeks ago. Was not hard to predict the conclusion since most super cars are more pain than gain when used in real life. I have done some driving in Scotland, and have to say that a McLaren would be out of its element for the most part and terrifying for the rest of the time.

The one comment at the end pretty much sums the car up...

"....SP: So are we declaring the slowest, least powerful, second-cheapest car here our overall victor? This feels strange...."

From the pics it looks like a portion of the area we drove a couple of years ago with the S2000 club over there. Very fun and very scary!

None of those roads are much wider than a cowpath over here and lots of driveways and other entrances to the road, to go along with blind hills and the road suddenly changing to one lane with only occassional pull offs to let a car coming your direction pass. Did they slow down on those roads?? You must be daft!! It seemed like they sped up.

It didn't help that I was sitting in the right place but had no brakes or steering wheel.

I'm with the TG guy. Straight up speed isn't fun, but the sensation of speed is. 155 on the banking at a Nascar track doesn't seem nearly as fast as some autocross courses I've been on.

I'm hoping that some other car manufacturers read these types of articles and begin to give us back some fun cars. It doesn't have to be super fast to be fun. The Datsun B110 I had was one of the most fun cars I've ever owned. I raced everywhere and everyone. They didn't know I was racing them, but I was and having a blast.

SP: So are we declaring the slowest, least powerful, second-cheapest car here our overall victor? This feels strange.

OM: But right, I think. The Toyota was the car everyone kept jumping into for "one last quick go", and the one they got out of with the daftest smiles on their midge-bitten faces.

To be honest I was cheering for the Focus. I love the little scamp. It may be wrong wheel drive but it seems to have utility and fun all rolled into one.

Nobody invited "Utility" to this party! And if they had, the Toyota still would have placed second in this group of nut-bars.
