After my guilty pleasure of Street Outlaws (I know it's on closed roads and airports and the sound editing is horrible, but I like it). Fat N Furious came on. Normally I turn the TV off, but they immediately opened with an SC/Rambler in lace paint. Sweet! I settled in with a GRM for reading and couldn't stop watching the show anyways, because then they bought a Lancer R/T from a little old lady, and followed that up with a Omni GLHS! They didn't even make fun of any of the cars. It was actually really cool to see such oddball stuff on the episode and they did really good work on all the cars. I might have to give this one a chance every week.

They are a bit corny, but they do love cars.

It was a Spirit R/T. I've tried to watch it because cars, but I can't get through an entire episode now. I like trying to add up the cost of stuff in Street Outlaws. $3500 bet for an 1/8 mile race? Insane.

$3500 was on the low end when I used to go watch in Brooklyn and the Bronx.

I find Street Outlaws generally interesting (being fully aware how fake some of it is) and I am not much of a fan of drag racing. I like the aspect of the low traction "streets" they use, makes the races far more interesting / variable. The standard super sticky launch zones of drags strips seem really silly to me (consistant is boring).

One thing I would really like them to change though is the editing of the races. It's rather ridiculous, INSANE numbers of cuts back and forth and never actually showing the entire race. And honestly, does anyone think the entirely pointless mph indicators they show are real?

I have seen a bit of Fat n' Furious. Not terrible, not too much manufactured drama or fake "barn finds" or "great deals". If they can keep up the interesting cars, that would be nice.

I watched it for the first time last night. Neither the best nor the worst show on Velocity. Won't be reserving the time to regularly watch it, but if I'm scrolling and its there, I might stop in the future.

I still want to know what the smell was in the Omni.

Lol The guy with the cars was one of the Buckeye SDAC guys. I'll have to wait for it to show up on the youtubes to see it.

A super clean Spirit RT for $1800 and a very clean GLHS for $5200 was not realistic. The selling price for the pair was realistic.

Clearly they didn't expect the audience to know what those cars were. Kind of condescending, I thought.

That dollar amount would get you called an amateur in Chicago.

All if this^, I was astounded at the amount of cash being thrown around by guys in rusted out s10s and wood grain fairmount wagons.

I watched it and also read the discussion on the tm forums about it. Let's just say that its heavily scripted.
