The car in Question is a '97 Honda Civic LX Sedan, D(?)16, Automatic. The current deal is for me to buy it from the owner for $50 when she gets a new car. I admit this is kind of shadey so it may come down to FMV, but i will worry about that when it happens. Hopefully This will be in the $2012 challenge.

Anyway, the plan floating in my head is just load it up with cheap Ebay speed parts, turbo, coil overs, and such and just see if it survives.

thougts on my current pipe dream?

edit My main reason for going this route is b/c the body is way to ruff to bother with swaping in a Manual or B series(and the owner would be way to upset for this thing to run LeMons and risk getting crushed). BTW, what does an auto-to-manual conversion require?

Doesn't a D series auto have some wacky Vacuum operated shift type jobbie?

okay, you have a shell, now find a wrecked CRV, swap the entire drivetrain into it (4wd and all!) into the civic, b16 head, ebay turbo, hoosiers, suspension, and CLEAN UP the Challenge!

I like the idea of the CRV swap, but i would want to save that for something with a good body, maybe I should post pics with the crunched up rear drivers side corner...

But that will buff right out.
