Anyone know if a 95 K1500 g80 would fit a 92 Safari housing? Both ten bolt.

Make sure you know what size the gears are. Different gears will affect the thickness of the ring gear flange. 4.10 gears will not fit on diffs with 3.08s on them, etc...

The add says 3:73.

From what I can find the 10 bolt carrier break is 2.56/2.73  so you should be fine.

If the Safari is like the Chevy Astro based smaller van, then they may not. Some had the 7-1/2 - 7-5/8" rear axle, the K1500 would have the 8.5/8.6" rear axle. Full-size van would be the same as the K1500.

That's my concern. Astro/safari is what I have.

A zexel torsen  diff from a late 90s Camaro will fit right into the Astro axle.  We did one on an S10, bought it used on eBay for $175 or so.  That’s much better than a gov-lock.

If what Sonic says is true, you have the smaller F-body rear end.

You'll need to log in to post.
