I'm going to revive this thread because I really love these little glimpses into everyones' shops. A garage is such a personal space, and it always feels so special to see someone else's. So in the spirit of the thread, this is my garage as I left it tonight. I just finished lifting Elvira (the Miata) onto the stands to prepare for some pre-season work, and the stock car is also up in the air for my continued work on the dry sump system. Things are relatively clean right now, I try to put everything back between jobs, but it gets messy fast when I'm working on something.

I cleaned out the garage today, everything is in the driveway.  I had to hustle to beat the rain.

Everything got put away.  I did this so that I could fit my bother in law's Farenheit VW in the open spot.  It needs some attention.

Added the lathe last week. Bridgeport due next month.

Sure, both could be improved, but both are also pretty awesome.

Until I sold the 944, this was a thing.  I hope to wash a few cars today finally, get a different view.

Pics from a few minutes ago.  I have the Vette apart, I have baseboard for our condo to install after we put in new flooring, I'm working in somebody else's shop on another Vette tomorrow, going to Denver for a week after that, and when I return I have to go install a shower in my mother's bathroom that I gutted a couple of weeks ago.

Stealing 12'X23' of space to expand the garage:

My "space" is really just a tiny cave with a smaller parking pad in an old home built before cars were actually a thing. Everything is a leftover scrap from decades of a nomadic, minimalist lifestyle, and it suits me fine that none of it is new or even particularly clean. 

Wife snapped me yesterday as I setup to adjust the front ride height for the fourth time. You can steal the lab coat and pocket protector style, it is honestly hella functional. 

3 cars and 6 motorcycles, 3 bicycles in a 20X26 space.  It actually works pretty well, with a decent motorcycle work area.

The eagle eyed among you might think there are only 5 motorcycles in that picture.  The 6th is there, just ... dispersed.  Note the swingarm on the lift in the background.  The engine is on the bench, the frame is with a fabricator, and the rest is all over the place.

I actually had 4 cars in there for several years, which limited me to 4 motorcycles.  :)  The Cobra replica was on the left side, the back jacked waaaaaay up in the air.  My wife would put the nose of her Mini Cooper under it.  I finally bit the bullet and rented a 10x20 storage garage that holds the Cobra in winter, my wife's E30 318is (that she really should sell but who am I to tell her?) in summer.  I figure I can spend $205/mo for the rest of my life and not put a dent into the cost of building a 2nd garage.

Part of the reason it works well is that I move a lot of stuff into my basement, one side of which looks like I'm running a motorcycle fairing business.

We moved into our 'retirement' home last year.  When we were house shopping, my only conditions for the house were enough property to park our RV and trailer, and a decent sized detached shop.  After nearly 20 years of trying to build cars in a 20x20 garage, I'm now living the dream with a 40x40 shop to play in.  What's surprising is how quickly even a large space gets filled up!

My parents built this 60 wide by 36 deep by 22 tall quonset. The upstairs and one small bay are storage for their businesses. The middle small bay is rented to the contractor who built it. The left small bay is my storage area. The big bay has wood working tools, my racecar and my climbing wall. My wife and I live in a little 350sqft apartment behind the small bays. Along side is a trailer we got for free that we're using for employee housing this summer.

That quonset is crazy!  2160sq feet...   I don't any insulation nor much ventilation in the pics.  Does it get really hot/cold depending on season?

It's friggin yuge! Only our little apartment is insulated. The upstairs gets well over 100° mid summer but we only use it to store car parts and mostly surfboard foam. There are also windows upstairs that really help cool things down. Downstairs we have the two garage doors allowing a nice cross breeze if we're doing wood or car projects.

Crammed into one half of a two-car garage. Now out of the car hobby, the freed up space became new tools, which of course filled up the garage again. Hiding along the side wall are the belt sander, lathe, 3D printer, and TIG welder. The intent was always to end up with a complete shop for "puttering around" when I retired, and that has worked out pretty well.

Thanks! I really am not a wheel guy but I did want this look for this car. If you notice the jack in the front, the wheels are off the ground at full droop
