Who has worse then these?
Most shoes I own become garage shoes when I forget I'm wearing non-garage shoes and go do something dirty and greasy, and then can't wear said shoes out in public again.
That goes for t-shirts and shorts too.
I'm terrible at remembering to change oout of good clothes before working on projects..

This is so true of me too. I have an entire garage attire that was once perfectly respectable out-in-public clothes.
That being said, most of the shoes I wear in the garage, or around the house for that matter, are usually already beat up.
I have more grubbies than actual clothes. They're striated from "working in the machine shop" at the top of the scale of least scabrous to "Suitable for use while wire-wheeling a rusty 25 year old trailer" at the worse. I rotate old pairs of Vans Old Skools out the same way. I do keep a nice-ish pair of steel cap work boots around for when I'm moving machinery, rigging and lifting stuff. I like my toes...
Dear God, how do you walk around in those things on concrete without your entire body hurting? I have to wear thick sole work boots with Dr Scholl's inserts or else my feet, legs and back are screaming after a few hours.
I love my Dr. Martens, they're worn-in, worn the hell out and very comfortable.
They work for everything.
I have had a system for years that works. When my wife shows up with new sneakers, the old ones become the shop sneaks. Sometimes I'm out there in my socks before she decides the good ones are done, and I don't really remember how to buy clothing myself anymore.....

oh, I can beat those, but I will have to wait till I can snap a pic at home.
..think 14 year old wild dog on a summer day after running thru an oil field...
I have similar garage/work sneakers. I also have specific pants purchased for working in the garage that generally looser than my normal jeans. Generic, $14 cargo pants from Target. A number of t-shirts are designated for the "work use" as well. Because I'm often working at my g/f's house after work, it's become habit to have a change of clothes with me at all times.
My old running shoes that double as lawn mowing and garage duty. They look far more gross than your shoes but in slightly better shape.
I can't tell you how many pairs if jeans I have destroyed that are not "garage clothes"
One was a brand new pair.. put them on for the first time and went to the garage to get something.. and brushed up against a greasy CV joint on the saab transmission....
I don't have a pic but mine are a pair of almost 20 year old desert combat boots that I used in Saudi in 1994.

It only took one trip to the doctors office where he had to cut into a festering sore on the sole of my left foot without anesthesia to remove a rusty chunk of swarf that had been imbedded there for a week before I stopped wearing a pair of worn out vans on the garage.
My garage footwear is a pair of redwing boots.
I tend to wear hiking boots.. but then, I tend to wear them everywhere except to formal and semi-formal occasions
Wally World steel toe boots with Dr. Scholl's inserts here . . . I was die-hard old Nike's running shoes until a transmission rolled over on my toe
last time I was out in the garage I was in some adidas flops... did a little welding no less... not smart but I wasn't expecting to do any more then playing with some wiring and now that i'm on the 3rd floor apt I didn't want to go back up to get real shoes.
typical shoes are some POS wal-mart POS slip on leather shoes...
I have a few shirts and some old ratty shorts and some pants that are specific working on car gear... the shirts are a mix of old shirts some of em from the pizza shops i worked at...
