I am looking for an engine gasket set for my Nissan truck. Fel Pro seems to be the most readily available. What say you folks as to brand and source. Rock Auto has a few different brands, but Victor Reinz disappeared as I tried to order it. There is a Payen set for which I know great things about for Spitfires. Nissan stuff is stupid expensive.

I have used Fel-Pro for years and was never dissapointed. I used the Nevatorque (sp?) head gaskets on my racecar with almost 14 to 1 compression with no issues.
I was wondering if their head gaset was that good. I have used an exhaust gasket that looks similar to their's (paper looking) and they were crap. It slipped and caused a leak. The ones I replaced them with were much better. I suspect they were Nissan brand.
Ya I am interested in this as well I just purchased a Fel Pro top end set for the Mustang for my upcoming head gasket job. I was wondering what the consensus was on Felpro. It was my go to mfg for years but I have not purchased from them in a long time and was wondering if they were still on there game?
I will use Fel-pro on American stuff happily, and their head gaskets are fine across the board. For Aisan and Euro pan and cover gaskets, I prefer using OE if I want it to last.
I prefer to use FelPro as well. I used to know a guy that worked there many years ago and he used their products on all his cars. Plus it was a Chicago based company at one time and I'm from Chicago.

Go Ettore B... go commando!
Oh wait.
Felpro, yah dat's it.
In the last few years I've had disappointing results with Fel Pro valve cover and oil pan gaskets. Switched over to Victor after my machine shop recommended them. Not as easy to get, but I've been happy with the results so far.
FYI, these are on older American V8 applications.
Well I went to Car Quest to order the Victor set. They did not have them and apaparently could not get them. I ended up ordering a brand I am not familiar with (Japanese sounding name), but which the lady said was the original manufacturer.
I have used Victor Reinz, FelPro, and ROL with zero problems. If I am doing an American V8 oil pan gasket, I have noticed that FelPro tends to "weep" a bit, but I attribute that more to the cheap stamped-steel oil pans and multi-piece gaskets than anything else. They do make one-piece gaskets, but they tend to weep around the main caps.
Last full build I did was a Marine 350 which I did with a kit from ROL. 5 years of full-throttle punishment and its bone dry.
