Just a headsup for anyone looking for truck winter tires, General has discontinued the Arctic Altimax LT truck tire.

In its place, they have a "Grabber" Arctic LT. What's the difference you ask? Well, having owned both, I would hazard a guess that the Grabber has an overall more "aggressive" look (in my opinion, this is the main reason to go with the change, strictly for marketing purposes) but also the compound is stiffer and the tire more durable/stronger, probably to last longer with the types of 3/4 and 1 ton trucks these are meant for.

The good news is they are clearing out the older Arctic LT's, so get them while you can!

Does this not apply to the car version? I was starting to think about winter tires for the fiesta

don't the Blizzaks turn into just plain old snow tires after the first season or two ? after the ice gripping sipes are worn away … I'm asking because that's how they've been presented to me … GREAT for the first yr, after that they're just good

Is this still a Nordic design/compound?

I'll tell you in a few weeks. Putting my 1-season 8000ish mile old ws-80 blizzaks that still look great and that worked great at the end of last winter on the wife's Crosstrek, and putting new blizzaks on my Mazda 6. I drive more in a day than she does in a week, hence me getting new tires and her getting the hand me downs.
