Ok, I'll try to figure out FMV on the parts of the kit that I use....if I use it. kinda unsure about puttin' the old IROC-Z on the bottle. But it was too good to pass up.

Thanks guys

the only good part for him this time around was it was a warranty thing... but took 2 weeks for the dealer to get the new computer and flash it...

I suggest you find out at the Challenge. Start with a E36 M3 ton and work your way up from there. Heck, just screw the tank into the intake manifold and open it up before each run. See what happens. You'll either go really fast, or I'll read about you and the grand explosion that your car made in the March (?) of 2010 issue of Grassroots Motorsports and get a good laugh.

For what it's worth, a friend of mine was running Nitrous in his 1986 302 Mustang. He told me he was running a 100 hp jet. It was screwed directly into the intake manifold behind the throttle plate. That car was fuel injected though. There were other engine modifications--heads, intake, exhaust, probably internals too. It ran 12s on 555Rs.

75 extra ponies shouldn't hurt you too much.

And don't hate the Prius, guys. It's a weird little car, but it's kinda fun to drive. And it's still near the top in attainable mpg. That Jetta TDI commercial where they talked about the world record 60 mpg... yeah, that was a world record. The disclaimer at the bottom of the screen suggested different figures.

you know what else is near the top in attainable gas mileage? a CRX HF...

Hell, I had my Ford Aspire loaded down with over 1000 pounds of crap, and I still averaged 40 over 2 tanks...47ish highway with nothing in it...

I can't afford to buy it & he's convinced that he can't sell it for anywhere near $4500. perfect waist of a good car. What the tree huggin' dirt worshipers don't seem to realize is car guys started recycling way before anyone else thought it was cool.

O.K. so why dont you trade him your car for his? Then he can trade yours in for the $4500.00 "credit" and you have a better car.

keep in mind you have to have maintaind registration on the car in your name for a year before the clunker cert is issued.

Your brother-in-law is now my enemy.

I'm an Obama supporter, but this is the kind of thing I was afraid of when this nonsense about reviving "crusher laws" started.

Get what you can off of it now. Because your children won't have the chance. Perhaps you can put the NOS bottle and interior trim on ebay ten years from now, and put you children through college, since they'll be the last ones on Earth...

I was hoping somebody would say it! The whole "NAWS" thing baffles me. I know where it came from (NOS), but why perpetuate it?

And who decided n-a-w-s was a good phonetic spelling for it? (it makes me think "noz" or "nahz")

wouldn't "noss" be more appropriate?

Oh well...I haven't ever had nitrous on a vehicle...

Yet.

Automotive slang etymology...fun stuff.

Regarding FMV - IIRC, $75 is the going rate for a free, used kit. And yes, I've scored more than one kit for free. Like minded people with AADD run it, destroy the motor, let the car and kit sit for a year or two, and suddenly you end up with free NAAAAAAWWWWSSS.
