I know this question has been asked many times before but here goes again. My son and I are interested in participating in this series in 2015. Can't this year as there are prior commitments. We would like to share a ride the first year to get some experience. That could include helping in the pits to share a ride, just helping in the pits to get some experience and/or actually putting in some money to help out, what ever it takes as we are newbs. We don't know enough "car guys" to start our own team so we will have to glom on to someone else at first. We have much autoX experience and some Solo 1/track day experience. We are in the process of researching this and are aware of the events website and other forums related to it but we are hoping for some extra good advice from the GRM peeps. He lives in Orlando, I am in Michigan but obviously can travel down. We would prefer Sebring as it's close to him. Thanking everyone in advance for any useful information and hoping this question hasn't been asked so many times that we simply just annoy everyone for asking it again.

Yep, do an arrive and drive. I was in the same boat as you when I started LeMons. I had done a ton of autox and some HPDE, but nothing like LeMons. I also have little mechanical skills. I had always wanted to try wheel to wheel racing and had set a goal to try LeMons. By happenstance, I wound up talking to a fellow GRMer who had his own team. I joined up with them and have now run 6 events. I'm utterly hooked. Being part of the build of the cars is as much fun as the race.

So while I started in the same boat as you...I now literally drive "the" boat in LeMons. Go to the LeMons forum, it's got a help wanted section for drivers.
