This appears to be a pretty common problem, but not common enough for GM to do anything about.  I have a '13 Yukon SLT with 71k miles on it and of course the dash cracked behind the passenger airbag.  The crack appeared about a year ago but last week as the Mrs. was cleaning the dash, the little bit of friction that was holding the two pieces up gave way and "caved" in.  From what I have been reading, it appears that it is a dealer decision as to help with any cost.  Any advice on the best way to handle the situation?  I don't really want to start by kicking down the door and lighting the flame thrower, as it is out of warranty, and I do live in a small town, but at least I won't be going to Hennessy Honda of Woodstock...

I would his go in and speak with the Service Manger about the issue and go from there, you never know they might take ca re of the whole bill.
