GM dealer blacklist

Well, it looks like at least 2 local GM dealers got 'the letter' today. One of them is 2 doors away from us.

Where's the list?

GM won't publish it, they are expecting the dealers to announce it themselves.

Chrysler didn't have a choice. It's in bankruptcy court. Court cases are open to the public, including "evidence" such as the black list.

Bummer is that one of the GM dealers that got the ax just flattened their building and built a brand new facility about 3 years ago.

Seeing as how sales at any particular "store" on the list may suddenly go to zero....it's good that GM is putting the news in the dealer's hands, for now. At GM figure 1 out of 5 stores will close soon. At Chrysler it's about 1 in 4..

I thought it was a bit crass for Chrysler to publish the dealer getting the ax. It would suck to work for one and see the list published before the boss told you and know your life just got even more complicated.

On the local news they said that 1100 GM outlets would be closing.

Give it 3 weeks, the entire list will be public.

Chrysler dealers have roughly a month to liquidate all cars and equipment. GM dealers have roughly 18 months. Publishing a list by gm would affect their dealers far further than the Chrysler dealers

Some Chrysler dealers have more than one Chrysler outlet, but only have one closing. Look for the "closed" dealership to be used as an annex of the surviving dealership.
