Doing some front end work on a 08 Suburban 1500, is there some trick for the UCA bolts running into the spring or do I have to drop the strut assembly out?

I'm 99% sure you have to drop the strut to at least move it. I can't remember if you need to pull it completely or if you can push it over enough to get room.

I did end up dropping the struts, the labor I quoted for this thing is getting more justifiable by the second. The berkeley ever happened to the old GM system of blowing a dozen rivets out with an air chisel and bolting on a new set of ball joints? I find it amusing that they did keep the stupid stack of hardware store E36 M3 sway bar link design.

I assume replacing the whole arm takes less labor than replacing the ball joint once you know the procedure. Or GM just doesn't care. Who knows.
The only good part of the end link hardware is you can throw a half dozen washers into the stack instead of replacing worn out squishy rubber.
