I saw that! That's some pretty nice work! Dave, was it you I met? I met so many people, that was such a cool time! I can't wait until June, I'm definitely busting my hillclimb cherry.

Cool. Nice meeting you! Butch was super cool. I loved seeing that GMC coming up the hill. :D
The website is actually www.hillclimb.org .
I'll be anxious to here if Jeff made it back OK, that was a long drive. I wouldn't say OKEMO is glass smooth anymore, but still pretty smooth. It has it's sections that haven't aged as well as others. Burke is still quite smooth. As dave said, many of the cars looks stock on the outside, but they aren't for the most part. If you see a class designation as U on the side of the car, it is close to showroom stock with tires being open. SP is street prepared, anything goes as long as it's still able to be street legal and inspectable. P is for prepared, and those are prepared race cars, you could easily see them at an oval track.
Yep, I got home at 2am this morning. Had to skip my afternoon runs to get a head start on the drive back. Had a lot of fun and will do it again someday. Thanks again to everyone I met and for the great hospitality! Now that I see how its done, here's the list for next time:
Bug spray...yup, believe it or not it's worse at other places or times of the year. More power--yup more torque--yup Tent-sure Beer--there is usually some on hand, unless you want to suprise us with something from your neck of the woods. maybe some aspirin would be wise. Hope you had a good time.
I'd try Burke or Philo as your next one.
I did manage to get a picture or two of you and a video of you going by my check point. When I get them uploaded, I'll let you know.

What car were you driving? I tried to introduce myself to as many GRMers as possible but nobody really seemed interested. Of course it was the third day for everybody else and it was my first.
Sherman gave me a packet for Mt. Burke next month, I'll be headed to that. Does anybody know what the arrangements will be for that one? Should I pick up a tent and stay on the grounds?
In reply to WilberM3:
High centered on a big rock. He came in over confident, jabbed the brakes and tried the wheel. Cars don't steer too well when the tires aren't turning.
He'll be able to piece it back together but the underside of the front end is mangled.

I didn't see you...or I don't know if I saw you.
There was some grumpiness going around by the end of sunday, as some folks fealt we could have got another run in. Combined with the number of mechanicals and offs on sunday, it made a lot of folks a little testy. More often than not, you usually get more runs than that.

Just clicked on your profile(seeing the x type), and realized I sat down and spoke with you for quite a while...I gave you my results sheet just before the awards. Green hat, newly torn blue jeans, nasally voice.
In reply to sachilles:
Sweet, yes I remember you. I got a lot of information in that conversation, thank you!
I know what you mean about people being a little testy, one of the corner workers called the ending to the event to a T. He predicted exactly how it would end up. Either way I'm still looking forward to my first event! My wheels just showed up today and they're getting mounted now. Can't wait to see how it rides with the new wheels and tires!
chknhwk, in the may 13th post in this thread www.hillclimb.orgI posted the link for the classification spreadsheet. This should help you figure out what class you are in. If I remember correctly you had asked about the classes and such.
You'll need to log in to post.
