Good automotive books

Got a Kindle as a present and I'm looking for some good auto books to read. Not shop manuals, but stories/columns. I'm going to download some of Peter Egan's stuff, but what else?

I thought any of the books were available on the Kindle? That's not so? How can I tell on Amazon if the book is available on the Kindle?
