I've got one of the $50ish Chinese ones you can get fro HF, Northern and the like. It's been a trooper. Doesn't see a ton of use but when I do, it's airing up 33" tires 4 at a time. It gets blistering hot but hasn't shut off. I've upgraded the hose so that I have plenty of reach, but between the cord length and the hose it was doable originally, just tight. Be aware, anything that plugs into the cig lighter will be limited. Those aren't really rated for enough current to do the job, so either it's a dinky motor or a decent motor that can't get the amps it needs. Go for battery clips instead.

This.  I have the HF compressor in a bag.  It kicks ass at autocross tires and I bought it years ago when I had a wrangler on big tires. All the off raiders said it was THE solution to airing up big tires after aired down 4 wheeling.

If you're into the Milwaukee M12 battery system their tire compresser is nice.

I'll second the Milwaukee M12 compressor, it might just be my favorite Milwaukee tool. Love the small size and ease of use, I had one tire with assess up valve stem, so I added a threaded to regular lever lock valve stem adapter for about $10 and it's served me well. HD runs promotions on them for around $100 with battery and charger: https://slickdeals.net/share/iphone_app/fp/585806
