$32000 seems downright reasonable. Now try and find one without markups...
I would walk into a dealership with $32k cash tomorrow if I could drive one out.
I don't know how old that article, I'm wanting to say it's early this year. I'd surprised if the MSRP is that low, not to mention the insane markups.
But my current goal is to get the '23 BRZ paid off as soon as I can (once it actually gets here) and try to get one of the last V8 Mustangs or Camaro's.

I have a really hard time believing that $32k figure. That's basically Civic Si/GTI territory. If the real number is anywhere close to that, my 18-24 month plans might be changing.
Other than price, I really just want to know how it drives. On paper, I think these things look like awesome, but does the real world experience match the spec sheet?

I agree. If I had to guess I'd say the core is going to start around ~$40k with the Morito going for $50k+ MSRP.
When is the press embargo over and folks can release details like actual reviews of driving it?
no way that is $32k
42 maybe

September 14th, 7am eastern.
In the meantime, you can come rummage through my hotel room and take your chances.

If one were cross shopping Honda Civics based solely upon price, which version of the Civic would he most likely be considering?

I don't think you have to worry too much. Ford has confirmed the next gen Mustang will have a V8. Full reveal is in about 2 weeks. You'll probably have another 7-8 years to buy a brand new V8 Mustang
In reply to calteg :
I thought there were a bunch of rumors about the next-gen being a hybrid V8? Admittedly, I don't keep up with it as much anymore since I ordered the BRZ.
It would be nice to see them go Alpha-Camaro style and release a new chassis that is actually lighter. But I don't see that happening.
