Let's hope that NHRA does decide to go back to that track. I hate to say it but drag racing can pay the bills while road racing can't. I've been there once back in the early 2000's. A SVTOA event in early Nov. The day I arrived the track declared bankruptcy for the first time. Our event went on as scheduled and the track was then bought by the Ray Irwin mentioned in the story you posted a link to. He and his brother were longtime owners of Blackhawk Farms Raceway in Rockton, IL which is sort of my home track.
