I'm looking at the economic sense of buying used tires from local Spec Miata guys. What would be a fair price for a set of used RA1s? How much life can I expect to get out of a used set?

There's a guy nearby asking $50/tire. I don't know if that's a good, fair, or poor price. Should I haggle him down?

Spec Miata guys rarely sell used tires because RA1s will work until they cord. work well, in fact. Depends on the tread depth really. Anything over 3/32 would be worth $50, imho. Per

I think it is fair, if they are scuffs, i.e. not more than half the tread gone and only a few months old.

I used to pay $100~$150 for a used set of V710s from one of my buddys.

I also have an opportunity to get brand new NT-01s or RA1s for 25% off, for an upcoming event.

Which would you say is the better deal? Used RA1s for $200 (plus mounting & balancing) or new NT01s for ~$550?
