So, after 15 years, the leather seat covers on my BMW 328 convertible aren't holding up too well, at least not up front. I'd like to replace the front seat upholstery with cloth - not only are new leather covers spendy, but I don't really like the feel of leather seats on a hot day. I've got a set of custom fit seat covers from J.C. Whitney in my Dart, but they aren't the easiest place to deal with. Any recommendations?

FWIW: The 318i/is/ti came standard with cloth seats. The 325/328/i/is came standard with vinyl. Cloth seats were available as an option on M3s.

The leather seats on my sport package 1994 325i are also in sad shape, so I am also interested. I am sure the cheapest solution is to buy some aftermarket seats.

Or buy a set of nice shape cloth ones out of a car being parted.

The ones that came out of my ti were in immaculate shape for 166k miles when the fixed backs were put in...

So far all I've turned up outside J.C. Whitney are these neoprene covers:

Although some pictures I've seen from guys who bought them don't look too bad.

I had some nice denim covers from jean seats international years ago. They wore and fit well
