Click and Clack will no longer be recording new episodes. I'm going to miss their gasping, hacking laughter.

Well... Dang. I always look forward to listening to Car Talk while making breakfast on Saturdays.
At least I finally remembered to send in an answer to the Puzzler last week, before it was too late.
Dang!! Well, there will be enough old episodes to keep me engaged for a long time. I'll just need to remember to sync my iPod more often.
I've often looked forward to getting called into work on Saturday mornings just so I can listen to them while driving to who knows where in my truck. I will miss them
Darn...I'm not happy to hear the news, but they've had a good run.
Now my referral for their new staff meteorologist, Arthur Mometer will never get hired.

(I did actually go on to the website and submit that at some point within the past few months.)
Maybe we can keep them on the air: Everybody should buy a piece of Car Talk memorabilia and send it to Ranger50!

Nope. The only people that ever strongly recommend to me that I listen to that show were non car people in my family. I tried listening and it was like watching Beavis and But Head. I came away feeling like I had lowered my IQ. Or lets put it another way I felt that I gained more information from the commercials during the program.
It just never did it for me.
That being said I can watch cars go in circles for three hours listening to Boogity Boogity Boogity so don't take my assessment of them as a benchmark for taste.

Although I didn't hate them, their wackiness got old for me. I rarely listened to them.
I truly loved their show and listened every chance I could. But that was, heck let's see, about 20 years ago. I still catch them here and there, but really, the callers are pretty dumb about cars, and their shtick got stale after awhile. A good run. Sorry to hear they're calling it quits.

You're not alone. I listen to them maybe once every other month just because I like guessing what the problem with the caller's car is before those two got done cracking bad jokes and guffawing. They'd waste a quarter of the program on the stupid puzzler that I couldn't care less about. It's a shame; the world could use a GOOD car show.

I don't care if they're on the air or not, but I couldn't stand listening to them. The few times I tried, they gave out incorrect answers to peoples questions, and spent the rest of the show giggling at how funny they thought they were.
haven't listened to them for a long long time .... our local NPR dropped them several yrs ago .... almost zero support for them when it came to the annual fundraiser time
I didn't listen much, as their answers were usually pretty frustrating (and their callers lack of any knowledge or brains whatsoever), but it was at least good to have a "car show" on the radio. Their cheesiness was like the opposite of Pat Goss's "smarter than thou" persona on-air.
In any case, it's been years since I listened to them but sad nonetheless to have one less "fix your car" show on the air. It'll probably be replaced with yet another boring-as-hell radio golf show (seriously, Golf on the radio may be the most boring thing in the world).
And where the hell will I get my BG44K for free now??
For those that may want to try an alternative...modern take on a radio car show with some humor, hot rods, repair advice, and irrelevant story telling mixed in:

I agree, Car Talk had a good run, but the schtick was getting worn thin...good time for them to exit.

If people liked it then I'm glad they did, but I really didnt like it much either because of the stupid jokes and wrong answers to everyones questions.
