I think they were nice guys that meant well. And their show was still pretty abysmal. I'd be happy if the affiliates all replace World Cafe reruns in that time slot.

I've never listened to them, but I've seen some transcripts of theirs that were horribly wrong.
The one that sticks in my mind was someone called to say that their 911s speedometer was accurate at normal speeds, but at >150mph or so, it was off relative to the tach.
The radio jocks said that there had to be something wrong with the speedometer because there's no way that the rear tires (which get power) could be going significantly faster than the front tires (which drive the speedometer).
This proved that they had no idea that tires slip as a function of how they generate traction, and it was not only possible, but almost certain that at the >200hp necessary for speeds that high, that the rear tires would have a measurable slip ratio...
4,000,000 listeners per week disagree with you naysayers.
Some of you are car snobs. You do understand that the point isn't really about cars, right?
Geez. Lighten up.
I love 'em. But that's mostly because I really enjoy a laugh Saturday mornings when I am wrenching.
I don't know how you could hate Click and Clack- they're like Jesus.... you might not be religious, but you can't really hate the guy.
Yes, they were corny, yes, they sometimes got the wrong answer, but they always admitted it. And to laugh like that... they're going to live to be 150. I envy every part of that.
Finally, for all the car advice they gave, it was always almost unerringly practical. Most people don't work on their own cars, most people really do need a Subaru Forester, and yes, for domestic tranquility, most men should take their wives' opinions into account, and finally, your dad was almost always wrong about car maintenance, but you shouldn't be a jerk about telling him.
I've learned a lot from the guys over the last 30 years I've listened to them. Laugh. Listen. Think.
I grew up listening to these guys and will miss their show for sure. Maybe it's a New England humor, or engineering humor, but I always got a chuckle out of the show.

The title of their show is...uh....?
Corny fun. That's all. If you're taking them seriously, you may have missed the point. Always enjoyed their style and still do (just listened to them while changing the oil in my shocks).
Tom M. has an MG-TD. Previously, he owned an MGA, a TR-250, a FIAT Spider and other semi-interesting stuff.

Which probably at a best WAG, is at LEAST 50%, which means 2 MILLION people, are taking them seriously. And you wonder why service techs and writers drink HEAVILY.......
I'll miss'em...
Any Sat AM that I was futzin in the garage, they were on the radio. Usually entertaining, sometimes enlightening, always fun.
They have earned their retirement.

I will really miss the them also. My dad got me started listening to them and I have been subjecting my kids to them.
I've enjoyed them over the years. Sometimes I find myself shouting at the radio when they have something wrong (IMHO), but much of the time I learn something, especially the things that tend to go wrong with certain cars over and over again.
Their "marriage advice" stuff is usually particularly amusing. Especially if the caller has the right attitude.
I usually download their podcasts and listen for distraction while I'm on the treadmill. I suppose I'll have the archives to draw from...
