So I’m going to need to get tires soon for Big Red, so I just happened to be at Wally World and they have Goodyear Authority A/T tires in my size for $149 each. E Load LT tires even.
Has anyone used these tires? It looks like Goodyear makes them specifically for Wal-Mart and Goodyear can’t even be bothered to put specs on their website for them. Reviews are all over the board. Apparently there isn’t even a treadlife warranty.
This are it:
Goodyear Authority Tires - Walmart
I had a set of thoes on a travelall.
Pros:
hard compound
looked good
wore well
Cons:
hard compound
not the best in snow
loud soon as they got some wear
The Wrangler Authority A/T is in fact produced solely for Walmart. The tread compound is the same as what is used on the Duratrac.
Goodyear doesn't typically offer a treadwear warranty on LT size tires.
Id stay away from Goodyears. I had their Adventurer "Kevlar" model on my Colorado and they were absolutely terrible. The tread started cracking at 20k, the sidewalls started to show the belts shifting around 25k miles and they had zero grip on light stone or dirt. They arent rated for snow by Goodyear and i can attest to them being complete crap in any sort of below 32* weather. Goodyear basically told me to buzz off when they have that much mileage on them.
I went to some Falken Wildpeak AT3W's and they have been fantastic. Noticeable improvement in grip in offroad(jobsite) conditions. They are quiet on the road yet still look a bit more aggressive than a regular A/T tire. They offer them in P and LT sizes and C and E load ratings.
I will guess that these Goodyears offered only at Wal-Mart are the tires you put on a used car/truck to say it has brand name, new tires. They are a good value that way, but, if your intention is to really run the tires, say in a commercial application, they are not going to be the best value.

I have been running Falken Brand car tires and have been very happy with the value.
My Gov't Mule F250 came with Toyo Open Country H/Ts. They seem wonderful.
I get tires on tirebuyer. com and they sell these tires for $140 before instal but no shipping charges. 65k rating.
