Fixed that for you.

Looks nice! I've had a hankering for another RX-7 lately myself.

Congrats on the purchase! I have two FCs including an '87 GXL. Change the oil every 3,000mi, don't let it overheat, and rev the piss out of it whenever you get a chance!

I was hoping to click on the post and see a chic in a bikini laying on a car getting hosed

Make that priority #1. Be careful as it is a PITA to put back in and you can bend fins that way.

racinginc215 wrote: the radio won't hold memory power and who cares.

86-88 RX-7s have solder joints and relays that go bad and cause electrical gremlins. Check that the brake lights, horn, and wiper and headlight switches all work normally. If you can solder, then you can fix those. I've never heard of anyone rebuilding an FC radio, though.

Enjoy! They are a blast. I love my '88 base model.

In reply to racinginc215:

The silver/blue was always my favorite color combo, and incidently the colors in the first '7 I ever owned.

Find yourself an S4 Aero kit if you can and bolt that on. Heck, I might even have most of one lying around here.

racinginc215 wrote: I made one of those impulse buys from craigslist. It had all the right words. Southern car, No rust, runs great, 5 speed shifts great. no rust. and it's 88. so I make the deal buy the car and find out the damn things missing it's pistons. at least I got it cheap. But it did run very well missing it's pistons.

I have a special this month on full race cams for that, I could probably knock another 10% off, if it'll make you feel any better.

You should check the valve lash.

You should install the missing pistons ASAP. Eight of them. In a V configuration.

Nice score. FCs have been growing on me since my co-worker got his '88 vert back on the road.
