Gran Turismo 5 will be released on November 2, 2010.
3D enabled, online play, 950 cars, crash and damage with diminished performance.
This info is from the E3 gaming/electronics show today at about 4:40pm EST.
I've had mine pre-ordered for about six months now.
Lets just hope they keep this release date.
10 bucks they change the date.. ![](/media/img/icons/smilies/crazy-18.png)
GT5 is starting to smell a bit like Daikatana... or is that actually a hint of Duke Nukem Forever in there? (Tangent.. does anyone else find it funny that the initials for that are DNF?)
Another news release
the guest driver for GT5 will be none other then
![](http://myartisteer.com/!black-ops/images/duke-nukem.jpg)
and it will be titled GT5-Duke Nukem Forever
Hail to the King baby!
Wasnt GT5 supposed to be released like 2 years ago now? I got a PS3 for xmas with the hopes that they would actually make the march release date, jokes on me I guess.
-edit- seems the Rev' and I thought of the same thing at the same time!
Which is more of a fallacy - F1 in Austin, or GT5?
^OOOOOooooooo good one.
At this point, I think F1 in Austin is more likely.

Doesn't matter anymore. I have rFactor and Live for Speed. Now if I could just land one of those sim racing rigs...
I will believe it on november 2.
Yawn. (rolls over, goes back to sleep)
i'll believe it as well....Gran Turismo 5 is a lot like this game right here

Me too.
rFactor w/ Historic GT mod has been here for 5yrs... no waiting. http://vimeo.com/1287451
I love the old Abarths, 911s and Escorts... Elans... all of it. VIR, Mid Ohio, WGI, Lime Rock, Road America, all the euro tracks... $40 bucks and all the free downloads you have room for.

I used to care, but then I got this.
Now I'm like..."game console? People still use those?"

I flip/flop... rFactor has cooler cars, tracks and physics... iRacing has better racing.
Lately I've been doing a small hosted deal with friend on rFactor with the Historics... when they get bored and I have no one to play with I'll go back and ruin the rest of my iRating.

GT4 was exactly the same way, I was following it closely and the release date got pushed back about 5 times on that one too.

Yes, you're right. Also, GT3 was the same way too. It was supposed to be a launch title for the PS2, and it didn't come out until way later. GT3 was the reason I bought a PS2, and I think my launch PS2 was doing the "disc read error" thing by the time GT3 came out. ![](/media/img/icons/smilies/crazy-18.png)
Also, the PSP version of GT was supposed to be a launch title for that system, too. I think it finally came out late last year or this year. I actually just picked it up the other day, and I'm flat out unimpressed.
It's more or less something to keep people busy until GT5 comes out, and it fails at doing that.
Forza 3 FTW!!! (as far as console racers go) ![](/media/img/icons/smilies/cool-18.png)

I just wish LFS had a track editor (like the autocross editor) so that user-generated tracks could be used....
I might have to try the compy games now that I built a pretty serious rig for the lving room as an HTPC on the 50".
AND 3.2ghz quad core, 4gb DDR 1600? Ram 1gb video card, that should handle those racing games right?
Such bitterness!
I guess I'm too much of a fanboy for PS3 and the GT franchise.
I, too expect to have the release date pushed back. For GT4 it was pushed back like 4 times - over 18 months of delays. When I got it - it sat on the shelf for months cause I was so bitter about it.
David - one of these days I'll get into iRacing and show you all what a back-marker REALLY looks like! Just call me The Moving Pylon.
In reply to z31maniac:
That computer is much too slow - you need to put a turbo on it and some Nitrous - Then it may just keep up.

Serious question, or just showing off :D
Download the LFS demo, it will run at a reasonable frame rate on that.

Except for online. Dang, we can't even turn the "suggested line" off? I've never seen one painted on the surface of any real racetrack I've ever driven..![](/media/img/icons/smilies/unhappy-18.png)
If the online for GT5 gives me Forza 2-style public races, I'll let my copy of Forza 3 collect a pile of dust. And I'll do what I did when GT4 came out..buy the game and the new console to play it with on the same day. There's a reason SONY's learned to give Polyphony Digital all the time they want to finish the stupid things...![](/media/img/icons/smilies/laugh-18.png)
Wouldn't it be appropriate and ironic to be able to race unicorns in this one?
