I've decided we need some more layback in our chumpcar. It's a crappy Sparco Sprint mounted to the stock rails, which are mounted to the floor.

We had the idea to get a length of 1.5" square tube and some longer bolts for the front, drill 2 holes all the way through the tube and just use it as a big spacer. Would that pass tech?

What about the same as above except we use a 2x4?

square tube would likely be fine. Be even more fine if you weld it to the floor in a few places.

Don't do the 2x4. If it's not a Morgan wood doesn't belong in a car.
