See what I did there?
So here's the scenario. I made a comment on a thread a while back about how I am madly and stupidly in love with AE101 Toyota Corollas... and wagons specifically. The other day a nice gentleman from here (I forget your username sir- email is being a h00r)contacts me and informs me that his loyal Toyolla wagon is for sale, is what I want, and is how much I want to pay for it (read, exceedingly cheap). It will make a fly and drive no problem. However- I may not. Between the wife and I's schedule, a short notice hop on a plane to go get a car is nearly impossible. (young kid). The car is in Hagerstown MA, which is about 45min south of my parents, who are in Chambersburg PA. Vinny has offered to get the car there for me, which might be an option assuming my parents are willing to store yet another car at their place. (they have...8? right now.) Otherwise I basically have til the end of october to get my ass in the air and get to the car and get it back here. Putting it on a truck seems like an obnoxiously expensive way to get a Toyolla wagon to me, considering the price of the car, especially. My wife is ok with me being gone to go fetch the car, but the only week we can pull right now is the last week of October, and Vinny might be gone- depends on his work. And since it's Vinny's car, that might be a problem.
If it was you guys, how would you approach it? OR- who can I bribe with beer to bring it to me?
Odd that no one is heading to the middle of nowhere Minnesota any time soon.
If I was headed your way, it wouldn't even take beer, I'd do it for the adventure.

Also, Hagerstown is in Maryland (MD), not Massachusetts (MA). That changes the potential logistics somewhat. Good luck getting the details worked out! I've had some generous offers of help from folks here.
I may be able to get it from Hagerstown to the upper peninsula of Michigan in October. Or if any MN teams are competing at Black River Stages in upstate NY in late September I could get it up to them.
If he's willing to drive it the other direction into the DC area (or even just BWI), I could stash it at my house in Richmond. MSP --> RIC is $157 one way in October. Not sure I could get SWMBO to sign off on being gone 3 days, otherwise that sounds like fun.

Yeah sorry. I wrote that post from my cell phone while being in the er for my wife after being up for 30+ hours while simultaneously eating a bacon egg and cheese biscuit and chasing my 3 year old. I probably could have done at least one less thing in there.

I meant that by way of helping out, not by way of editorializing... good luck with the old lady / little woman / SWMBO.

Lol no worries- just giving you some background. Not making excuses. I tend to do things the stupid way anyhow.

Alright, backup plan #1 is in place... my parents are willing to store the car. So we have THAT working for us. Now to try and figure out the main plan.

Oh and the wife is ok. She's got a chronic kidney issue caused by some sort of chemical something where she's basically constantly passing stones. Once we manage to convince the ER doc she's not a smurf- we get pain meds and she goes home and be's a pumpkin for a day or two.
