I've been waiting since the below-zero months for the vintage racing at Waterford Hills. Today was the day. I dragged the whole family with me, ran into a few GRMers and had a great time. Here's some pics, and I'll try to post a video or two up as well.
I posted this pic on the book of faces with the challenge to ID it.....nothing. I know someone here will get it quick.

Someone even brought out Bobby Rahal's ex CanAm car. What a beast!

The car chasing it had a BMW motorcycle engine and was VERY quiet.....and faster than the CanAm on this track, lots faster.
Here's the BMW-powered beast! Listen to how quiet it is. Anyone know more about it?

First pic is a Mini Marcos. I think it's been there the past couple years. I've got a few pictures that will be here when I find the camera card reader.

Best moment of the day..... the guys in the Midget and the Lotus 7 stopped racing when the starter showed them the "one lap to go" sign. The guy in the 2nd Lotus gained a couple of spots before they figured out the race wasn't finished. 
Odd, but I have seen that a couple of times.
I think Richard Petty did it once.

I would enjoy owning a Mini Marcos. I've never seen one for sale.

The Marcos is based on a mini cooper. I think it's just a mini with a different body. Can anyone confirm or deny this? I'm sending you an email now...
The Marcos was a fiberglass shell that incorporated the front and rear sub-frames of a Mini.There were other cars that were similar, like a Mini Gem. A Mini-Marcos actually completed the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans.
