One of my students has a '79 F-150 4x4. It's a cool truck and it's his baby so he wanted something to drive during the winter so his precious truck wouldn't rust.

His choice for a winter car?

A bright red and slightly ratty C4 Corvette with a loud exhaust. It's fun to listen to him sliding his way out of the parking lot when it's snowy.

Good winter beater because no appearance of rusty body panels.

My DD for 5 years was this AW11 MR2 that was lowered. never once had a problem with any snow, never used snow tires either.

Thanks to totaling my focus right before Christmas, this is currently my winter beater

The hardtop looks ridiculous but it helps a lot

Plastic body, limited slip - what's not to love?

A good winter vehicle is one where people say "you got here...in this weather...in THAT?!?!?".

Indeed. The answer can still be the answer.

Snow tires ftw! And yes, there are a few reasons why a C4 Corvette would be a great winter driver.

I've had 3 AW11s. I tried to avoid driving them in the snow, but had to a few times. They were absolutely gawd awful, and I was on all season tires. With dedicated snows, I can see them being usable, but not great. It was fun in an empty parking lot, but dangerous on the roads.

I still can't find cheap C4 Corvettes very often.
