Yea I don't know if I want to bring my laptop into the executive library. And the pages load v e r y s l o w l y.....I mean I don't rush when I am "reading" in the library but being this slow I would only get to see a few pages.

I love high tech and I work for a software company but I really like collecting the magazines. I still have the first issue I ever saw. And that was a long time ago!

I see this on another digital magazine that I read. It's not exclusive to GRM. I think the pages tend to be pretty high resolution, so they take a while to load.

Awesome, I've been waiting for this for a long time! I'm also interested in a digital-only subscription, you make it available and I will buy one right now.

Nice, but I could really do without the "page turning" sound effect. Maybe there's a way to kill it that I haven't looked for yet, but really, does anyone need this?

I don't think either will supplant the other, but it is very nice to have both. Each has features lacking in the other.

Will this load on a nook?

On second thought, I'll just stick with my paper copy.

i have a subscription question; rather than 10 years of GRM, can i get 5 of GRM and 5 of Classic for the same money?

Nope, we don't offer that.

I don't know why. Some of these posts remind me of this.......

Favorite use for digital magazines is on transcontinental flights. I only bring one iPad instead of five heavy magazines plus a book plus an MP3 player. I am no longer in danger of being carried off the plane in handcuffs. Favorite use for print is because my kid always calls dibs on the iPad.

Any plans on offering back issues in digital format?

As an audio can I suggest a simpler sound. I can send you a pile to pick from. PM if you want. Oh no charge.

Just now getting to spend some time with the digital version other than just some initial poking around when I first received it. System is Mac laptop with latest Firefox.

Once again, I love the concept as long as we get this to go along with the print version, but . . .

Just like the original version I am having trouble viewing in a large enough size to be able to read it. When I "click to zoom in" I don't have any type of scroll bars to be able to move around to other parts of the page. The "hand" only allows me to move the page around where the original picture is.

When you try to click to other parts to get it to move you get random events. Well I mean random because you had no idea they were going to happen. There's no warning on the page to tell you where it's safe to grab.

A cool digital feature for the $2011 Challenge would have been to be able to click to get the rule set.

When I clicked on the additional Digital content for the Challenge article it simply linked me to the forum page. I didn't get any extra digitial content.

At least the ads were a safe zone this time. On the original version I had to be careful looking at them or it took me to their website. This didn't give me much room to grab the page and move things around. On this version (so far) I have been able to move my mouse over or click close to and I didn't have to leave the page. There were obvious (when you moused over) links to the company's web page instead of the whole ad being a link.

I sure wish there was an inbetween size. Last time I found I could view in 75% and read the text. This time I have the default choice where size is determined by how big I open my window an on a laptop or iPad the type is too small to read OR I can zoom into a predetermined size that is bigger than it needs to be and like I said above is now hard to move around on.

The page turns do get to be a little annoying. I could turn my volume down, but then if I did find an area that actually gave me additional digital content (since the Challenge article didn't really) I might want the sound up for that. In any case I see that I'd vote to nix the page turn sounds. WOO HOO! I did actually get additional Digital content on the Pirelli World Cup link.

For me the main reason to view the mag as digital is the ease of sending articles to friends and additional Digital content so I say UP the extra digital content.

It's on the list, but there's a lot more important stuff above it. Once we get the software to a point that we're comfortable with on the current issues, we'll start going to the archives.

And in response to Carguy, who's post I just saw, the links in many of the stories were very last minute additions. If you look, you'll notice that many of them aren't even in the print version. In the future, those links will be planned into the editorial flow of each story, so they should be a bit more relevant. jg

Bump, in case anyone was in jail last week—or sleeping in the dog house—and missed it.

The April issue is available online for free, right now. But for a limited time only.

Oddly enough, my favorite use for my iPad on long trips is playing the thousands of old atari, nes, sega, etc games I've got.

Favorite use for print is exactly the same, though. Wife is soon getting a hand me down iPad so I can tell Sammy to go bug mom....

This is awesome, if for no other reason than you can use the "search" feature to quickly find words/phrases you're looking for.

This may have already been covered but I could not find it. Is there a way to save the issue to view offline?

Not through that digital edition. The only way to save it for later digital consumption is through our Apple or Kindle apps.

iTunes App

Amazon App for Kindle and Android

Or you could take the paper copy with you.
