For those who missed it, we've rolled out a couple of cool things for our upcoming 25th anniversary issue.
First, take a look back at our very first issue, now on the site:

Then, take a look at what tomorrow might hold and sign up for our first ever electronic issue:

Tried to register for the first e-ssue and got this:
Just hit it with a hammer...
If you're seeing this, something has gone terribly awry.
We got your registration, and have fixed the thing that caused the error. It's all good.
I knew that 99.00 subscription deal was a scam..that got my money and now they go digital...shheeshh...
I'm trying to figure out how there were letters to the editor and tech questions in the first issue.
Any way the pages on issue 1 can be made big enough to read?
They are really difficult to read, even when clicked. Do I need glasses? Maybe at home on my 24" monitor it will be legible. 17" Imac=no.

agreed. clicking them makes the page 1/3 the size of my screen. Not easy to read the smaller type.

Anyone else running tires that were advertised in the first issue? On the page titled 240 fever featuring a Lotus Elan at a local autocross there is a tire ad with Yokohama A008's advertised, they are also the inside the back cover ad...I have been running those on the Mini, no longer the state of the art, but a decent tire, especially when there are not many choices in 165/70-10 except ATV's and golf carts.
Wow, I didn't realize that you could buy a new TVR in the US 25 years ago.
Of course, not many people did....

They just made them up, like they do now.

Grab the PDF?
That would work great if all you wanted to read was the Riken ad. The PDF linked to is only one page, just the back cover.
Really cool to see what things were like back then. I get the impression from that issue that oh, say, 70% of the entrants at events back them must have been Datsun Z cars .

Wow... I saw an advertisement for anti-sway bars... And the car used as an example was a Mustang II... I think. Someone want to confirm this for me?

We did not! We got our friends to write them.
FWIW, I TOLD Tim it was weird to have letters. He said people wouldn't know they could write in unless they saw them.
What did we know? We were a couple of <25s sitting in the spare room of a rental house. (And given that, what did we have to lose?!)

Um, is the electronic issue only open to US residents? The drop down menu, on the form, only has states listed.
That is so cool - thanks for posting it. Many, many memories in that one. Can you do number 2 also? I did the C Stock comparo article in that one.
Honestly, I don't think that will happen. Getting hold of a 25-year-old issue, scanning all the pages (without irreparably mangling the issue) and putting it up proved to be quite a challenge. I know it was a much larger, more difficult project than I initially thought it would be. We might, but I wouldn't expect it.
