My new issue of Modified magazine came yesterday. Here it is compared to GRM. Wonder which one I'll renew next time?
Seriously, I thought it was a pamphlet when I was getting it out of the mailbox.

I have it on good authority that many of the staff members of Modified magazine engage in something called "sleep."
Not familiar.

That's similar to popular science vs. wired. Not directly related but both are fairly nerdy.
GRM and Men's Health tend to always have nice thick issues full of good reads ans some useful knowledge.

It is a state said to be attainable by productive humans only thru something called "intoxication".

Intoxication I know.
I signed up for a year of "Toad and Rack" for $10 as I love to read what "Peter Egan" has to say. I was just sent a renewal for another $10 year - I actually am going to pass. Once again GRM and CM is worth the money - the rest blow.
Grassroots: "Here is how to corner weight a car"
Modified: "Spin those collars to as low as they go bro!"
GRM is the ONLY aftermarket based mag that I allow into my chamber of solitary reflection. Everything else sucks.

I'm sure you meant this as a complement, but, knowing where my "chamber of solitary reflection" is . . .

Ahhh, yes, that's a symptom of something called "Winning", usually accompanied by the faint tang of excellence at the back of your mouth.
Now the itchy hootus.... no idea what happened there (this time).

Subscribed for about 1.5-2 years or so. Seemed like an alternative to the same Honda coverage all the other "tuner" magazines carried. Mostly reading material for my 1/2hr work lunch. But lately that's changed, along with smaller and smaller issues. Take out the ads and it's maybe 30 pages.

I remember when Sport Compact Car merged with modified and a few others. I wanted my money back. Sport Compact Car was a good magazine though. I subscribe to GRM, Road and Track and Car and Driver, motoiq covers the SCC void. I'll most likely not renew R&T and C&D.
In the last year, after having discovered this site, along with my regular reading of a number of other sites, I let my subscriptions to C&D and R&T lapse. I noticed that the issues were coming in and I just let them sit there. I just find their reviews/comparisons are not really relevant to me anymore. I only liked R&T for Peter Egan's column and some of the tech columns in the back of the mag. That and I have definitely moved over to reading things digitally.
I've been looking to subscribe to GRM, but I don't see a digital subscription option. Any chance on that coming down the pike?
I used to have a subscription to the Nissan Magazine - it was good as I am a Nissan guy and rather enjoyed it even if it did get a little thin at the end but I saved every one and reread them as I find them.
So I buy my first Honda and sign up late one night for the Honda Tuner magazine and by accident I click on the three year button. Ugh. I read this in 20 minutes right next to the recycling bin.

There IS a digital sub option. Three, in fact.
Print subscribers can read our browser-based version free here.
OR you can go with a digital-only subscription for the most popular tablets:
Kindle owners can get that app here.
And Apple folk can go digital with our iTunes App here.
(Also, even if you don't have either of those tablets, you can download the Kindle Reader software for PC from Amazon and then read Kindle-y things on your computer.)
