LeMons Spring South 2010 is behind us now. Our little Civic did us proud, despite the front struts draining themselves (this will cause massive wheel hop on acceleration BTW) and a mount 'ear' breaking off of the transmission causing the whole powerplant to fall back into the firewall. Other than that, it ran flawlessly, never missed a beat.
Thanks to some superb driving from everyone on our team, we came in 9th overall. Quite a change from last years' DNF.
So how did others fare?

The Hong Norr Killer Whale DNF'ed in 58th place. We suffered from piss poor brakes (Two sets of porterfields and a set of rotors munched in a day and a half), an exploded clutch that while we were diagnosing led to a failed pedal cluster weld, a shift stabilizer bushing that evaporated, and finally, repeated drivers side hub failures that did us in when we ran out of parts.
On the bright side, we didn't blow any engines. Maybe we are turning a new leaf.
Still, lots of fun!

There was a rumor running 'round the paddock that y'all were pulling an engine just because you have had to do it every other time you've been there.
We swapped '87 Integra calipers and rotors all around and I spent the better part of a Saturday building some freaky lookin' brake ducting. Must have worked, we ran one set of Porterfield R4E's on the front, they have probably 3/4 remaining and the DangerZone cheapies on the rear didn't even get seated good.
On the downside: seems the LeMons scoring crew hiccuped somehow and we are actually 11th. Still, I will NOT throw that one back.
BTW, you still have those Tokico Blues hanging around? PM me and we can set up $$.

It felt very strange having a running car Saturday night...maybe because we upgraded our engine hoist from a 4x4x6 piece of lumber to a 3"x8' aluminum pipe. I figured it's the lightweight racing version. But we did get to "flat rate" out the trans r+r, spare drivetrain dissasembly, and clutch swap in an hour on Sunday before the Peoples Curse that no-one (including us with our one vote against) got enough votes for...
Who did you talk to about the Blues?

Woops. Wasn't Wayne or Mike and obviously wasn't you. Dang, but I'm bad with names.
What course does LeMons run at CMP?
