That is kind of most events. Actually, it spends so much time off the ground, we should probably paint that Dodge orange when he's not looking.

And we know where we can steal the proper horn to go with it right?

This was course was much wider than our DET events so I saw straight line opportunities and wet WOT and just held on for dear life. With no fear of blowing up the engine due to its current condition and lack of power in 2nd I just wound it out whenever I could. It was a rollercoster ride just sawing at the suggestion wheel (steering wheel) then giving it the beans to tell the car where to go and then using the suggestion pedal (brake pedal) to aim it at the next desirable location.

Also, is there a printer friendly version or can you email me the excel file? I tried even on an 11x17 and it didn't work

I dubbed your car the Angry Bees car. It was almost painful to be passed by it.

For the people under thirty-ish:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zRX4mlFi06A

(ed. note: this song was the first piece of music I ever owned. Mom got me the 45 single when I was maybe three)

(A 45 was a vinyl record that only had one song per side. They were a lot smaller in diameter and had a large center hole for some reason that probably made sense at the time but required that you use a special adapter thing. And if you forgot to switch the player from 33(1/3)rpm to 45rpm then the music would play really slow. Really fancy record players could also play at 18rpm and 78rpm.)

My first 45 was Michael Jackson Beat It, hah.....

Yah... nostalgic for the old tech now. Amazing how things that we think of as being so cheesy also managed to seem to be much more well built (in a motorcycle-maintenance Quality sense) compared to modern tech. Like, you paid $500 in 70s dollars for crap, but it was very very well made crap that would outlast you, probably.

Think I'll find my Cowboy Bebop DVDs and watch the episode where they had to hunt down a Betamax player.

In reply to Jerry:

Yeah the exhaust gasket blew early on in the weekend and proceeded to get worse making it sound more angry bee sounds. Also I'm pretty sure the current setup is between 100-110db.

I just kind of discovered today that somehow during the event I also managed to lunch the transmission. I don't know if the phantom grip just tore things up that badly that fast, if I managed to screw the thing up in when I put it back together, or if it was just in crappy shape to being with, but it is completely done at this point. I've got another trans (which also has problems, but I haven't cracked it open yet) so I can either try to rebuild that and throw an OBX in it or I can go pull one from a yard and just go back to an open diff.

And if I can't do that in time, I might have to take the RX-7 to Nebraska to run in PR and see how that goes for me...

Did you remember to put fluid in the trans after slamming the axle in?

Yep. I filled to spill. Something else that occurred to me is that I've got the wrong shift cables on the car right now (2nd gen cables which are almost the same, but not quote) and I'm using a cheap short shifter so I might be overshifting 3rd which could have released the little ball bearings from the synchro. Which would also explain why the last transmission gave out. I'm going to have to open it up and take a look.
