"GM's 45% drop plumbed the lowliest of Wall Street's grim projections, while potential merger partner Chrysler posted a 35% decline."
whoops, it looks like a bad time to sink my ebay profits into GM stock. When is that new Camaro coming out?
It seems that people have realized that you rarely need a new car. New cars are for rich folks That's one kind of trickle-down that works!
I was in Mexico recently and was watching one of the English language channels there. There was a program talking about how car sales are WAY down, how a large percentage of the country works in the auto related industries and how the government is trying to figure out how to help the companies...
...then I figured out that the program was about Germany!!!! Very strange, but it is pretty much the same everywhere. Germany actually has it worse though, I think they said is was something like 60% of the population works in the auto related industries. I think the US is more around 40% (which is still pretty scary)
A product line with most vehicles getting 29mpg + and a new diesel that is presold for 18 months helps.
The BS commercials were funny whenever my pregnant wife came to pick me up at work, that was it.
