During our latest chump car race our H22A4 ran flawlessly except for it was having random misfires/bogging in 3rd and 4th gear. It would feel like the car was dying, I'd hit the gas it would rev up but no go anywhere, hit the gas again it would hang at 4k RPM. Downshift and it would be on it's merry way. Or it would just sit there and misfire while chugging along. Running a OBD1 P13 ECU, OBD1 injectors, OBD1 engine harness. It was very intermittent and before we had clutch issues in hour 1 we were running pretty fast. After we replaced the clutch and master cylinder we were running within a second of the second place and up cars when we weren't having this issue.

The Honda forums aren't being of much help. Everyone keeps saying "y0 it's the dizzy" but we have like 9 distributors from junkyard trips and it does it no matter if we run with internal or external coil.

How do the plugs look? What shape are the plug wires in?

Plugs are brand new. Plug wires are in good shape. Would a bad fuel filter cause something like this as well? The F22B2 we had in the car before was doing the same thing at the end of the last race. Or a bad ECU ground?

I am not sure if this will be helpful to you as it was a different vehicle, but the shadow I was running in Chumpcar had a similar problem. They changed the fuel pump and fuel filter, it helped, but it ended up being a ECU issue.

Got the car running again. Crankshaft pulley fell off after bolt backed out. So time to tackle this issue. Ran some new grounds and ordered a harness that is made for obd2 h22s running obd1. And changing fuel filter
