Sometimes you just have to get rid of a car. Such was the case with my 1997 Miata. It needed a top, and tires, and struts, and brakes. I was procrastinating on doing anything to it. So I traded it in and bought a 2004 Titanium Gray Mazdaspeed Miata that got traded in at my dealership. I'll post pictures soon but let me just say that this thing is a blast to drive in it's stock form. I can't wait to save up some money and get some Flyin Miata goodies for it.

Okay, I suppose that's acceptable.

Yes, selling a Miata is perfectly fine if you replace it with another one...or an Elise...or a 911 judging by recent events around here

So Miata continues to be the answer.

"Which one should I sell?"

Selling a Miata is okay. Being without a Miata (or Lotus, Porsche, or BMW) is not.

I tried that move myself. With 1st kid on the way, wifey said "I don't think so". To be fair, at the time it was a brand new MS Miata I was trying to bring home in exchange for my 2000 Miata. Since that was already paid for, she let me keep it.

I did finally sell the 2K Miata to pay for my 911. Brought that home the day after my second daughter was born - wife was still in the hospital recovering from a c-section.

Looks like I'm going to have to sell my '93 Miata. Too many cars in the driveway and it's the least practical for everyday life. Bummer because it's a terrific car and it took me a while to find it.

Good job!! It is always best to catch the little woman off guard........so you can slip another car by her with out her knowing.

Well we bought a new house last Sept. and the previous owner left a bunch of junk in the space above the garage, I'm wondering what I can sneak home and say "Honey! Look what I found when cleaning out the Garage!"

First gen rx-7 maybe?

I sold my 1990 Miata for a MazdaSpeed last August. At first I wasn't so sure it was the right thing to do, but now I am. It's just so much better for daily driving, but I do miss the lightness and simplicity of an early Miata. Now I'm hiding my credit card to keep from ordering everything Flyin Miata sells for the MazdaSpeed. So far I have the full intake, exhaust, and intercooler. The Hydra is tempting, but I think for the money some suspension bits would be better.

Damn, where's that credit card?

Let the record reflect that I didn't sell the Miata to buy the 911. They're both currently in the garage.

if your Miata needed struts, i'm not surprised you sold it.

Well, my miata had struts the other day. Of course, they wer in the trunk on the way to a friends house, where they were going into something completly different, and rather boring. I've sold many a second miata, only to buy another. I think that life is best with two. Not sure how I'll do it now that I'm going back to school, maybe Dad's Ranchero will get a garage mate up in Ontario.

Okay, Okay. It needed dampers, shocks, spring oscillation reduction devices. You know what I meant Buzz. And don't you encourage him mistanfo. BTW. The P.O. invested in a Racing Beat Power Pulse Muffler, So I got that goin' for me even if I don't have struts.

Well, duh, the 911 is a family car- it's got 4 seats!!! One sports car, one family car- perfect.

You are my HERO sir. Now i have a way of buying a car without "The Warden" intervening, she will be in the Hospital in early September, so that gives me a month and a half to find a car...
