It's not easy to make an interior that awkward. To get everything in the wrong location, that takes serious dedication to details. Everything within reach, but not where your fingers actually fall. Obvious controls, that don't do what they're obviously supposed to do.
It was only a few hours I had to put up with it, but it was a few too many.
Agreed. Worse dashboard I've seen from GM in a while. It's too bad, car looks really nice from the outside. What did you think of the ride/handling/ etc?

Perfectly civil, adequate, and totally boring. I did not thrash the car though, just drove it.

Ahhh, so GM is returning to the bad old days of reinventing interior controls that were long ago solved in a clean, efficient way?

I can't believe something so cleanly and elegantly styled wasn't a joyous place to operate. That interior looks so classy!

Looks like the guy that did the Camaro's interior is off his meds again..
At least you didn't hit anything and die in a cloud of hydrogen fluoride.
How is this the first I've heard of a new impala?
Can't say I'm surprised by what I hear though
I had to move a bunch of new GM stuff for an open house recently, and the new Imps were easily the oddest of the bunch. The new Caddy's with all their whizbang gadgetry even made more sense than these.
Personally, I liked the new diesel Cruze I got to drive. The first GM car in a bit that I would actually own.

No kidding. I just wish we'd get a hatchback or wagon Cruze variant here in the USA.
My choices for a Gubbyment GSA car is Impala, Slowcus or Patriot.
Slowcus is my favorite, but the Jeep box is the only one that carries all my junk. Boo bites!

Can you get the patriot with a manual?

Minis sure do a good job at making an interior awkward! Gauges in the center, door locks and window switches down low in the center with stupid toggles, impossible to read info screen, etc. Man I HATE those interiors!!
Am I the only guy that sees a ninja turtle face in that dash. (Take a gooood look.)

I've seen a meme reflecting this somewhere? Maybe FB?

Yeah they are weird, especially that door unlock. It does grow on you. Mine has the Chrono package that at least puts the speedo back on the steering column. There once was a company that made glare free lens so you could actually read gauges, but it seems to have stopped production.

Actually yes you can. Available in both 2wd and 4wd. I have pondered one myself in 2wd.

I haven't driven an Impala, but I don't get it, that dash looks fine to me.
