OK, ALMOST hand-made.
~This fellow~ in Thailand took a miserable looking VW carcass and scrounged enough sheet metal and other things to re-create a decent vehicle.
His methods are about the most "grassroots" I've ever seen.
Sorry if this is a re-post, but I'd didn't see it when I Searched here.
It has been posted here before but it is worthy of an occasional repost. Amazing what you can do with very basic tools (and no shoes)!!

sad. those guys can do more with some hammers, dollies, and tin snips than I can with all my fancy tools

Hmmm...trip to Thailand...Bangkok is "very nice" this time of year..well it's nice anytime of the year...
