I don't know if the topic has been discussed, but today I received a recall notice for the tires on my HF trailer. I bought it new last year and almost immediately one of the tires disintegrated while on the highway; as in the tire vaporized without warning. The phantom tire made replacement pretty easy as only the beads were left and they popped right off. The recall makes no mention of reimbursement for tire replacement prior to the recall. The hardcopy I got in the mail says to bring in the tire only, while online it says bring in the tire/wheel for a replacement.
Has anyone completed he recall and if so, what did you turn in and what did you get back.
just out of curiosity, is there a date range?
My HF mini-trailer is about 6-7 years old now with its original tires and 15-20k on them :)
The date range is Jan-14 through Sept-17. Innova branded for 12" and Far East for 8". Covers all versions of HF trailers.
The letter is dated 11/24, but I received it today.
There is also a P.S. about a trailer light recall that apparently covers every trailer they ever sold.

A couple of replacement tires mounted on rims from Harbor Freight I think in 2014 or 2015 can't really recall what year. Both tires had bad valve stems.
If the recall is for the tire on the rim this may be the reason if it's just the tire it's probably not.
I can see the valve stems going bad while you're on the road and the air leaking out and then having a tire disintegrate. My valve stems started leaking when I went to check the pressure before trip. They were leaking between the Rubber and the metal insert.
My trailer itself is ancient but I could sure use some new lights for it.
The recall paperwork shows where to find the TIN on the tire to see if it is affected, so I doubt it is for the valvestems.
This weekend, teh Perfect Trailer hauled some 45 year old Japanese steel and aluminum at speeds up to and including 90mph (on a closed course and totally not I-76) on the recalled tires, so maybe I'm just lucky. Either way, I'll do the recall, not just because the tires are cracking anyway, but because not doing recalls opens you up to liability.
Got our notice in the mail today. We did the taillights under recall a while back. If they recall the frame we'll have ourselves a new trailer lol.
my taillights have long ago been replaced from being broken trying to cram the trailer under the deck where it's stored :)
